10 個例句搞懂 Almost 用法，90% 的人常犯文法錯誤
前陣子我跟 Joe 在批改學生作業的時候，發現雖然 almost 是一個基礎單字，大家可能小學就學過了，但是把 almost 用法用錯的比率卻高得驚人。可能是因為大家習慣用中文思考，所以不知不覺就變成了台式英文。
Almost 用法解釋
Almost 是副詞，所以它出現在不同地方時，會修飾不同的詞。
I almost drink a cup of coffee every day.
修飾 drink，意思為「幾乎快喝到」，所以畫面會是：你每天早上都會把咖啡放到你嘴邊，但因為喝咖啡讓你壓力很大，所以你在喝到第一口前就放棄了，直接把咖啡倒掉。
I drink a cup of coffee almost every day.
修飾 every day，意思為「幾乎每天」，除了少數幾天。
I almost use it every day.
I use it almost every day.
I almost got up at 5 when I had to go to the airport.
意思為：幾乎在五點起床，所以可能在六點起床？
I got up at around 5 when I had to go to the airport.
把 almost 改成 around/about/approximately 用以來表示「大約的時間」，並放在時間前面，修飾時間。
Almost 其他用法
Almost + time
你做該事的頻率，少於期待的時間。
I drink coffee almost every morning.
幾乎每天。
I read English books almost every morning.
可能頻率是每週 5-6 天。
Often + verb
做該動作的頻率。
I often do it every day.
幾乎每天作某件事。
He often goes to school with his brother.
他經常跟哥哥一起去上學。
Very + often
做該件事的頻率非常高。often 是用來修飾前面的動詞。
I do it often every day.
每天頻繁地作某件事。
I do Tai chi often every day.
我每天頻繁地練太極拳。
